Frequently asked
questions.

The Product
What is ERIX?

ERIX is a compact Micro-ATX PC case engineered for full-size performance in a small footprint. It supports full-length dual-slot GPUs, full-size ATX power supplies, and runs on a single 140mm fan — no exotic components, no riser cables, no compromises.

Is ERIX fully 3D printed?

Yes. All structural components are 3D printed from a custom-blend PLA polymer, reinforced with brass heat-set inserts and stainless steel fasteners. Designed for strength, thermal performance, and modularity.

How big is ERIX?

12.4" H × 10.8" L × 9.0" W (314 × 275 × 229mm) fully assembled. Volume is approximately 12.7 liters — compact enough for a desk, large enough for full-size components.

Will ERIX fit on a desk?

Yes. ERIX is designed for desk use. Just make sure the intake (front/bottom) and exhaust (rear) aren't obstructed. It also ships with carry handles for easy transport between rooms, office, or LAN events.

Does ERIX support vertical or horizontal orientation?

The current design is intended for standard upright orientation on its feet. Additional mounting options may be explored in future iterations.

Compatibility
What motherboard sizes are supported?

Up to Micro-ATX (244 × 244mm). Compatible with mATX, Mini-DTX, Mini-ITX, Thin Mini-ITX, and Flex-ATX form factors.

What graphics cards are supported?

Maximum GPU dimensions: 245mm length × 139mm height, up to 2.5-slot thickness. This covers most dual-fan cards including the RTX 4060 / 4060 Ti, compact RTX 4070 models, and the RX 6600 / 7600 / 6650 XT class.

What power supplies are supported?

ATX up to 150 × 86mm, including ATX 3.0 / PCIe 5, Compact ATX, and Long ATX. SFX and SFX-L are supported via an adapter.

What storage is supported?

M.2 NVMe SSD installed directly on the motherboard. There are no internal 2.5" or 3.5" drive bays — by design, to keep the footprint small and airflow clean.

Cooling & Thermals
How is ERIX cooled?

A single 140mm fan draws air through the chassis via a shaped internal contour that directs airflow across components before exhausting out the rear. One large, slow fan does the work of four small loud ones.

What fan size is supported?

1 × 140mm case fan (standard mounting pattern). Recommended CPU cooler height is approximately 95mm or lower.

Will ERIX overheat compared to a metal case?

No. ERIX was stress-tested for 60 minutes with 3DMark Time Spy and FireStrike across two builds over six months of daily use — zero thermal throttling observed. CPU package max was 79°C under sustained load; GPU global max was 68°C. Full benchmark data is available on the Performance and Validation sections of the homepage.

Customization
Are the faceplates customizable?

Yes. ERIX uses magnetic faceplates that click on and off without tools. The faceplate STL is free on Printables — design your own, remix it, print it in whatever color you want.

Are the panels removable?

Yes. Side, top, and front access panels all remove independently for easier assembly and maintenance. You never have to dismantle the whole chassis for a component swap.

Will different color options be available?

Yes. ERIX has five modular components that can each be printed in different colors, giving you a wide range of combinations. Additional color releases and community colorways are planned.

Digital Files & Purchase
What print bed size do I need?

A minimum of 256 × 256 × 256mm. Every part in the ERIX file bundle was specifically designed to fit this bed size — no splitting, no exotic printers required.

What's included in the file bundle?

Complete STL file bundle for all structural parts, a full assembly guide with build sequence, a hardware sourcing list (all off-the-shelf parts), and print settings and orientation recommendations. All future file revisions are included free, forever.

What's the difference between Maker and Shop licenses?

The Maker license ($20) is for personal use — print it for yourself, modify it, share your build photos. It does not include the right to sell printed units.

The Shop license ($120) includes the right to print and sell completed ERIX builds commercially.

Are the files refundable?

Due to the nature of digital downloads, all sales are final and files are non-refundable once delivered. If you experience a technical issue with your download, contact info@sv3d.us and we'll make it right.

Will I receive updates if the files are revised?

Yes. All buyers receive access to updated versions of purchased files at no additional cost, for the life of the product. Updates are delivered automatically through the same download link.

Community & Future
Can I provide feedback or suggestions?

Yes — and it's encouraged. Join the Discord and drop ideas in #erix-discussion. Community feedback directly shapes what gets built next.

Will printed kits be available for those without a printer?

We're working on it. A printed kit option is on the roadmap for those without a 256mm printer. Keep an eye on Discord and #announcements for updates.
